KotobaTrace is an in-development Rails application for studying Japanese from text input. AI-assisted analysis identifies vocabulary and grammar, then maps its findings into a learner model shown in the UI. Users can review each item and confirm whether they already know it, keeping the assessment open to correction. The app also uses MeCab through Natto to extract token details and can check selected vocabulary against a configured Anki deck through AnkiConnect.
